Our Life Right Now

So, I don't really have any individual thing to blog about so I thought I'd do an update.



Mario- He is still working at Lithia as Sales Manager selling lots (hopefully!) of cars. Yesterday he was set apart as Elder's Quorum President, so he should be nice and busy between work, his calling, and us. As always he is a wonderful husband and father, in fact, Tyler saves his biggest smiles for Daddy.



Linda- I am a busy work-at-home-raising-kids-mom (whew, thats a mouthful) and enjoy it. Somedays are so crazy that I kinda miss being a chemist...but then I get over that pretty quick when I think of someone else watching my darling boys. I wouldn't miss being home with them for the world. I have started working out 3 days a week at the Stake Center. It is a really hard work out and I have already had results after only one week! I also keep busy with Relief Society as the Secretary.



Adam- Adam has the good life. He has swimming lessons, play dates at the park or kid time, story time at the library, and a million other fun things. He is starting to get use to sharing mommy time with the baby. Today he was even able to swim by himself without floaties! He is a happy kid.

Tyler- He is cute as can be. He sleeps well through the night and only is fussy in the evenings. The rest of the time he gives us big gummy smiles. He is starting to look more like a baby than a newborn now. We just adore him!

Tokyo Steak House

I'm a little late posting some of these things...but I just downloaded a ton of pictures onto my computer so SORRY!!!

For my Mom's birthday (Sept. 10th) I took my Mom and Dad out to the Tokyo Steak House in Federal Way. It is one of those places where they cook in front of you. It was delicious and entertaining.

Goodbye Altima!

A few weeks ago we sold our Nissan Altima to Mario's brother. I was actually really sad to see it go! Mario was driving that car when I met him. It is the car we drove on our first date and many many dates after that. We even got engaged in that car. Might not sound like that romantic of a proposal but it was! Might as well tell the story...

The short version is, Mario pretended like he was breaking up with me (yeah, not very nice!) and wanted to take me on a drive to talk about it. It was well after BYU-I's curfew, but we went anyway. He told me that he wasn't so sure that we should get married and he needed to pray about it. So we ended up at the Idaho Falls Temple and since it was poring down rain and the middle of the night we stayed in the car. He said a prayer asking if it was the Lord's will if we got married. I am of course super upset because I thought we were breaking up, but then I open my eyes and see a ring. Mario laughed and said that of course he wanted to marry me but that he wanted it to be a surprise. I almost killed him but was thrilled!

I digress....so anyway.... we drove that car to Washington to get married and then down to California for our Honeymoon. We drove it to the hospital when Adam was born and Mario drove it to the hospital when Tyler was born. It has been on countless road trips and has never given us trouble.

I never thought I would grow attached to a car, but I'll miss you Altima!

The family that bakes together stays together....

A couple nights ago Mario mentioned that we should make carrot cake as soon as we got the kids down for bed. Well, once Adam heard that he of course wanted to be included and being the softies we are he got to stay up. Baking at 10 pm with a 3 year-old probably isn't the best way to parent...but we had so much fun! Just look at the way Adam is looking at Mario, that is true love!

Two Months!

Today Tyler had his two month well-child checkup. He is as healthy as can be! He is still in the 25th percentile weighing 10lbs 7oz and 22in in length. He had to have five immunizations! That's 4 shots and 1 that he had to drink. I had never heard of drinking immunizations before, but this is for Rotavirus and new since Adam was born. Adam and I both got Rotavirus a year ago and it was AWFUL, so I'm glad Tyler got the immunization. His doctor is Dr. Mills (the same as Adam) and we really like him. He never seems rushed and is very thorough. He likes to know our family well and remembers everything!

Tyler is such a happy baby! He smiles all the time now and is even sleeping about 10 hours at night, 7 of those hours in a row. But as soon as we got Tyler sleeping through the night Adam decided to back track and wake up all the time. Go figure....

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Yesterday marked 26 years since my parents were married. In this day and age 26 years is quite a feat and I can really tell that my parents love each other. You never hear them talking bad about the other or being disrespectful. In fact one of the only times I got in trouble as a kid was when I talked rude to my mom and my dad got really angry about it. That's when I learned that you always stand up for your spouse and support them. I always try to learn from my parents how to make my marriage even stronger.

Not only are they great to each other, they are great to us kids. Growing up I never doubted my parents loved for me and can't remember ever arguing with them. They taught us about Christ and that our family can be together forever. What more important thing is there to teach a child?

They are also amazing grandparents. Adam and Tyler love their Nana and Papa! Even though we live far away Adam talks to them several times a week. I'm sure they can't really understand what he says but they always listen. As a mother I always look to my parents for guidance and advice, which they always wait to give until I ask for it. I am so grateful for their love, support, and friendship!

So Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! Here is to another 26 years and an eternity as a family!
