The Legend of Room 12

So while in the hospital we were pretty much celebrities! Okay, maybe not....but we did hear a lot of "Oh! Are you the one that was in room 12?". Apparently our story is unique so here goes. On Tuesday morning I started having regular 3 minute apart contractions. But with my history (ie. A 3 day labor with Adam) I decided to go about my regular business. So I sent Mario off to work and took Adam to swimming lessons and then to the park to meet friends all the while having strong contractions. Finally I decided (to the insistence of my mom) to head to the Dr. and get checked out. He tells me that I am still in early labor and that they would get me in for an induction as soon as something opened up.

By the time I got home my contractions were really getting hard so my mom decided to fly in a day early to help me out. All night I tried to sleep but kept waking up from the pain. Wednesday morning my mom and I head with Adam to run errands. Thinking it would get my mind off of things we go to Costco. I was sitting at Costco eating Pizza at about 1pm when I start to get LOTS of contractions and VERY grumpy. So after a trip to drop off the groceries and then Adam at my friend Janice's house (Thanks Janice!!!) we go to the Dr.'s. I sat in his waiting room for an hour and a half and start feeling HORRIBLE! He finally checks me and says to get to the hospital right now. So across the street we go at 3pm, get checked in and then things really got exciting. 45 minutes later with not even enough time to get an epidural (which I had really planned on!) I was holding little Tyler! I barely made it to the hospital in time! Luckily, Mario ran in right as I was about to push.

More Pictures of Tyler!

We are so enjoying the new addition to our family! Tyler is too cute and a great sleeper. I even get to sleep at night for a few hours at a time! Adam is a great big brother. So far there hasn't been any jealousy so cross your fingers for us. All Adam wants to do is hold his baby brother and give him kisses. We even went on our first outing today to Kaleidoscope Pizza. Tyler slept the whole time! Thanks to everyone for their love and well wishes! I'm pretty sure that between my mom and I Tyler is the most photographed baby ever, so here are some pictures...

Our first family photo

Yesterday Adam finally left the terrible two's! Since my due date was his birthday, we have been talking about it for months. We had a little party with the family that is here (Mario, Tyler, Me, My Mom and Dad, Adrian, and Laura) and then later on our friends Ned and Anelia came with their daughter. We had a great time!

Pool Party in his new pool and then drying off with Nana!

Jackson County Fair

Yesterday we decided to brave the heat and head out to the Jackson County Fair which is about five minutes from our house. We met our friends Chris and Janice there and had a great time, but I have to admit I was a little surprised. The only other fair we had ever been to is the Puyallup which is huge so I figured it would be more like that. It was so small it took about 20 minutes to see everything! We were going to let Adam go on a few rides but he is still about 2 inches too short. Poor Adam! On the bright side, we now know not to book a trip to Disneyland anytime soon (unless they sell toddler platform shoes). But he did get to see horses and eat a huge ice cream bar which he totally loved! My favorite part was that included with admission you could go sit in the grass area for the Plain White T's concert. So Adam and Mario got to go to their first punk rock show (I've been to so many I don't think I could count them if I tried)! They are actually really good live. I was super impressed and even Mario who doesn't like that kind of music and REALLY doesn't like sitting in the grass had to admit it was fun! Adam absolutely loved it and the atmosphere was really family friendly despite all the teenagers. Who knows...maybe I have a budding rock star on my hands. The night ended with a great fireworks show and then on to Sonic where we had corn dogs and Strawberry Cream Slushes. We have had a bit of a Sonic obsession this summer.... but it's soooo good! We figured $6 of food at Sonic would have cost $20 at the fair. In all it was a great night, although much to my dismay all the walking did not jump start labor. I wanted to go on the tilt-a-whirl and see if that would get things going, but Mario said no...LOL! It's a good thing we had fun yesterday because Adam now has pink eye and a stomach flu! Eye drops and vomit....fun fun!

Nana and Papa's Visit

This past weekend was so much fun! My little sister works for Alaska Airlines now, which means that my parents get flight benefits. Benefits started July 2, so of course my Mom took the first flight possible that day from Seattle to come visit! Then my Dad was able to come the next evening. Adam just adores my parents (I'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual) and loved to show off to them whether it be his swimming, his new big boy bed, playing at the park or riding his bike. He's such a ham so my parents took tons of pictures! On the 4th of July we went to the Central Point Parade in the morning and then to the Red, White, and Boom at Harry and David field for fireworks. There was a jet flyover at the parade so that was really neat. I also put my mom to work and we set up all the babies things. Thanks Mom! So now Mario and my bedroom is full to the brim with a crib, changing table, and bassinet. It's all so cute! Adam and Papa went on lots of walks, both with their binoculars to look at birds. On Saturday we went to the Jacksonville cemetary, which is really old and pretty cool, and then we drove through the Applegate valley to Grant's Pass. In Grant's Pass we went to a park right on the Rogue River and fed the ducks and geese. It was a relaxing visit and lots of fun, but I ate way too much! We had Kaledeiscope and Sonic of course, because it's tradition. We also ate lots of fast food and even went out to a Mexican Restraunt and Coldstone. I didn't think we ate that bad until I went to my Doctor's appointment yesterday and the nurse mentioned that I must of had a great 4th while weighing me! Grrrr....LOL. Oh and by the way, the Dr. says I am nowhere close to having the baby....oh well! The best part about their visit is that everyone is coming back in a couple weeks when the baby is born (well, hopefully the baby will be born while they are here!). My parents have a much more detailed account on their blog, http://www.jandjwalsh.blogspot.com/. Thanks for coming to visit Mom and Dad!
