Adam is growing up.....

He can drive! Well, a power wheels anyway. When I was working he got to play everyday with Larisa's, his baby-sitter's, daughter. They are such good friends. For her birthday she got a jeep but is too afraid to drive it on her own, so Adam likes to escort her around the neighborhood. Last week we let them drive it all the way to the neighborhood park. The funniest part was when Adam suddenly stopped the car and got out to look at birds (remind you of anyone? My dad perhaps?). He also had to stop and point out every BMW ...can you tell what his Daddy's favorite car is? What 2 year-old knows all the car brands? It took about a half an hour to get a few blocks but it was fun. They had a blast, although I barely survived considering it was 10 am and already in the 90's!

Baby Boy Aguirre Update

So we have about 4 weeks until the baby is due....not to say he will be born on schedule. I think the whole not knowing when he will come is stressing us out the most! Sometimes I just want to be done being pregnant...and then I think of how hard taking care of a newborn is : ). Most importantly I can't go into labor until my mom is here and I better not go overdue to when she has to leave! I need my mommy! I guess he'll come when he comes. Thankfully this pregnancy has been about a million times easier than Adam's. I've been having tons of painful Braxton-Hicks which gets old but at least I don't have to lay in bed all day like last time! Sweet Sweet Freedom!

Adam is really starting to understand that the baby will be born soon. He keeps asking how we'll get him out... hmmm. What's really scary is when he asks if he should go get a knife so we can cut the baby out. Yikes! I just tell him that the doctor will do it. Adam has been coming with me to doctors appointments which he actually really likes. He gets to listen to the heartbeat and talk to the doctor. Dr. Binnette asked his this week if I've been nice or if I've been getting crabby and grumpy. Adam said, " A little bit crabby and grumpy!" It made me laugh. Kids can so not keep secrets!

Mario has been great listening to all my complaints...poor guy! He totally deserves a medal. But my biggest complaint is that we still don't have a name. Yep that's right, nothing! We lay in bed every night with a baby name book and still cannot agree on a name. Mario is a big fan of naming the baby Mario....hmmm....nope! I'm sure it will come to us eventually. Well the baby might not have a name when he's born but he'll sure have a lot of love! If all else fails he can be hey you until he's old enough to name himself. How does Spiderman Aguirre sound?

The Circus!

This weekend we went with our friends, Ned and Anelia, to the circus. Their daughter and Adam get along great and we always have a great time together, so it was really fun. The circus was super small. There was a juggler, a clown, a couple acrobats, and a hula hoop girl that could hula like 50 hoops....but the best was a family of mexicans who flew through the air into nets. The kids had to have been like 10! I couldn't believe it! Adam wasn't too impressed by any of it, except for his sno cone and a mini pony that walked in circles (really...that's all it did). Then after the circus we all went to the Olive Garden and got to visit, which was Mario and my favorite part of the night! We always have tons of fun hanging out with Ned and Anelia!

So here are some pictures of Adam (and my) first circus! Sorry the color is weird, we were in a red tent.

Swimming Lessons

At the start of the month Adam began swimming lessons twice a week. It's a Tot and Me class, which means I "get" to put on a swimming suit 8 months pregnant. If that's not love I don't know what is! To say Adam loves swimming would be an understatement. All he can talk about now is when his next lesson is and what he is learning. He likes to "reach and pull" with his arms all over the house. It's actually a pretty good workout for me too, because I hold him the whole time while we do things. So watch out for Adam Summer Olympics 2020!

Half way to my goal!

Well almost....My goal this year is to read 100 books. In the past I have gone a year without soda, chocolate, and french fries. I thought of doing that again, but as a prego I knew that wouldn't happen. So I was inspired by my friend Tana to read 100 books, which is something she does every year. So far I have read 46 books. I usually read while Adam takes a nap and then during the couple hours between Adam in bed and Mario home from work. I really like this because I watch way less TV than what I was. Some of my favorites have been the Twilight series, The Chronicles of Narnia, and any book by Sophie Kinsella. So here is a little questionaire I got from Tana's blog all about books.

1- Who is your favorite character and what novel were they in?
Ginny Weasley from Harry Potter, I just really like her (Maybe it's the red hair)

2- Which book made you laugh the loudest?
Shopaholic and Baby

3- Which novel made you cry the hardest? The Fire of the Covenant By Gerald Lund

4- Which Antagonist pissed you off the most and what novel were they in?
Everyone who did mean things to Leah in the Abram's Daughters Series

5- Which novel left you scratching your head wondering what the heck had just happened?
A wrinkle is time, I read this book in Elementary and remembered liking it so I read it again. I so did not get it! Maybe you need to be a kid to understand it.

6- Which book are you most glad to have read? I'm really glad that I read Sense and Sensibility. I didn't really like it and it was a hard read. I wanted to give up on it so many times, but in the end I did it!

7- Which book do you think was the biggest waste of your money? I don't buy books. I only go to the library really. But the biggest waste of time was The Mermaid Chair By Sue Monk Kidd. I loved her other book The Secret Life of Bees, but the Mermaid Chair was LAME!

8- Which book scared you the most? Four Blind Mice

9- List a novel that you read because of all the great reviews and hype it got, but left you wondering what all the buzz was about? Twilight...but I still loved it. Does that even make sense?

10- List a novel that others may not have heard of, but that you really liked, and would like us to take a peek at. Anything by Roald Dahl. I know everyone has heard of him and they are kids books. But just read them as an adult...you won't regret it!

Ducks

Yesterday Adam and I went with a group of friends to Grants Pass, which is about a half a hour away. Our friends, the Mason's, just moved there so we had to check out their new home and city. We went to the Super Walmart with 6 kids under the age of five, which was an adventure and then on to the park. It is this really neat park right on the Rogue River. We had a picnic (Adam and I had Hamburgers from Mc Donald's with chocolate milk, of course.....it was Wednesday of Ernesta Week) and then fed the ducks. Okay so the ducks weren't so bad to feed but there were tons of huge geese that were pretty mean and wanted to bite. I couldn't believe how many ducks, geese, and pigeons came flocking as soon as the bread came out. There were even goslings which were super cute. Adam absolutely loves all birds, thanks to my dad, so he had a blast. After the park Kirsten, Janice, and I went to a few cute little antique shops in downtown. Antique shops with toddlers are pretty risky! But luckily with a lot of "keep your hands behind your back" comments we made it out without breaking anything. It was really fun to see all the cool antiques, but some of the prices blew me away. I guess I don't know very much about collectibles. All in all it was a really great day!

Horses and S'mores

On Sunday night our friends Jolene and Jordan invited us and our friends Chris and Janice to have S'mores at there house. They live in the country a little ways and have a gorgeous big property with 2 horses. Both Mario and Adam had never been around horses before and I have only ridden on one once, so it was really neat to be so close to them. Adam was scared at first, but then he was fine....Mario and I were scared the whole time! They were really beautiful gentle horses though. Then we had a fire outside and roasted Marshmellows. It was really fun to enjoy the natural beauty and visit with friends.

Pro-Rodeo

On Friday night Mario, Adam, and I went to the Rodeo. Mario's work was one of the sponsors so we got free tickets. To be honest it scared me to death! Why anyone would want to be thrown off a really angry bull is beyond me. But we had a lot of fun. Adam really loved it. It was a pro rodeo so there were some really good cowboys. Kristy Lee Cook from American Idol was there, unfortunately I had absolutely no ideo who she was, but it was still fun. We felt like we were in Idaho again...good times!
