Excuses, Excuses

So, I haven't blogged in so long! It seems like our lives have been a little crazy lately (AKA this whole year so far). SO here is a little catch up:
Mario's wonderful mom and sister came to visit us for about a month in a half. We had such a great time with them and were able to go to Disneyland (which I did blog about) and to Washington to see my family. After they left my Mom, sister Laura, and cousin Sarah came to visit for a week. We had a great time shopping and hanging out...pretty much doing what the Walsh girls do best!

Along with all of our great visitors and trips we have also started Adam in Taikwondo. He really loves it! It is so cute and great exercise. Taikwondo is a very disciplined activity and part of progressing in belt levels is being a good boy at home, helping your parents, getting along with friends, etc. YAY! I can tell when Adam knows he hasn't been making good choices at home because he doesn't want to go to Taikwondo or he asks me to not tell his teacher that he was mean. He really is a good boy but it is nice to have some discipline where I'm not the bad guy. His teachers are so fun and great with him! We really love it. And he can now count to 10 in korean...that's gotta come in handy at some point.

We have also been continuing, as always, with swimming lessons. Adam has been swimming for a year now and is looking like a little fishy. He no longer needs floaties and his strength is really improving. Tyler has been swimming for 3 months and LOVES it! It is so much work to get all three of us in and out of the pool, but the boys are really benefiting so we are planning on keeping it up.

Tyler has Babies in the Library every Monday, which is so much fun. He gets to clap, sing songs, and play with other babies. Then Adam's Story Time at the Library is on Wednesday. We also have been enjoying amazing weather, which means....the PARK! All winter we wait until we can take our daily trips to the park. We like to meet friends and play for hours. LOVE IT!
We have also been playing inside a lot....hence the block tower!

Mario is the General Sales Manager at work which means he works ALOT of hours! He works about 70 hours a week. Plus with being Elder's Quorem President, he really has his plate full. His indoor soccer season has ended, but I believe he is starting outdoor soccer soon.

I have been doing a Biggest Loser Challenge with Lithia and have been working really hard. I'm doing at least an hour of cardio 6 days a week and eating healthy. My hard work is paying off so I'm looking forward to a new wardrobe soon ;)! I'm also working with my friend Tamara on planting a vegetable garden in my backyard. We are going to have a regular grocery store...hopefully! And I have been working on my writing which fills my evenings. Busy Busy!
So this is why I haven't been blogging alot lately! But we have been having a blast and enjoying being a family.

An Egg-citing Easter!

(Sorry about the title....couldn't help it!)
Easter is both mine and Mario's favorite holiday. It's not as commercialized as Christmas and has stayed pretty religious. I love dressing the kids up and hearing the choir sing at church. I love watching the kids hunt for eggs and then stealing their candy afterwards. The weather is warm and the food is good. That being said.....
This Easter was busy! It wasn't very peaceful but we sure had a lot of fun and the kids loved it. We kicked off Easter last weekend with a trip to see the Easter Bunny in Ashland. I took Adam and Tyler and drove down with Janice and London. It was busy but very fun. Adam got to decorate cookies and make a bead necklace.

It was really an "Ashland Experience" as the girl next to him had to bring her own glutten free organic cookies. Gotta love Ashland.

Then the day before Easter we were invited to an Easter Egg Hunt at the Howard's home. They have property the overlooks the whole valley and is absolutely gorgeous. It was mostly young children and Adam had a great time.

They had a goat, some pigs, and chickens...Adam figured if he didn't make eye contact they would leave him alone. City kid....

On Easter we went to church and had a wonderful Sacrament Meeting. The Choir sang and my friend Michelle did a wonderful solo. We wanted to stay all three hours but Adam kept coughing so we took him home for a little rest and some medicine. We did dress the boys up though and it was so cute!

In the afternoon we were invited by our friends, Jason and Joy, to their family get together. It was at Mandy and Brandon's house which is on 75 acres up in the hills. It was so pretty and probably the closest to camping I will ever get Mario. They are big into hunting and had several mounts in the house so we had to have a little fun with it.

This is a bear they shot off their back porch! Scary!!

You can see the Ginger Roger's Ranch where she used to live from the house along with the whole valley. Gorgeous!

We made a huge Easter Egg Hunt for the kids and they had a blast. we hid some money eggs and Adam got $1.50. The first thing he said when he found the money was, "I need a wallet!" He had a great time. Tyler just enjoyed watching everyone which kept him busy as there were probably 30 plus people there.

It was a great Easter!

29 Years of Mario!

Yesterday was Mario's 29th Birthday. He had the day off of work so we got to celebrate all day long! We spent the day as a family and then our friends watched the boys so Mario and I could go out. We went to Callahan's for dinner. It is one of our favorite places. There is a musician who plays the guitar so the ambiance is great. It was wonderful to sit by the window looking out at the forest and listen to beautiful music. They even brought out a dessert with a candle and the guy played Happy Birthday on his guitar. Very fun! Mario thinks he is getting too old (hahaha) so he was a little bummed all day but I think he had a great birthday. He is such a wonderful husband, father, and friend. We are so blessed to have Mario in our family and wish him a very happy birthday!
